All bones have jobs.  The skull bones protect the brain.

The neck has seven bones.  A giraffe has seven neck bones too, but its bones are very long.


There are more than 20 small bones in the backbone or spine.  Each bone has a hole in it for the spinal cord.


The hip bone or pelvis is six bones joined together. It is shaped like a bowl.


The thigh bone is called a femur.  It is the strongest, heaviest, and longest bone in the human body.


The leg bone is really two bones.  The fibula is on the side and the tibia is in the front.


There are more than 20 bones in each foot!  The foot bones grow faster than any other bones in the body.
