The Leaves
The leaves are falling
From the trees
Yellow, brown, and red.
They patter softly
Like the rain~
One landed on my head!
An Autumn Day
By: Carmen Lagos Signes
Pumpkins in the cornfields
Gold among the brown,
Leaves of rust and scarlet
Trembling slowly down;
Birds that travel southward,
Lovely time to play;
Nothing is as pleasant
As an autumn day!
In Autumn
By: Winifred C. Marshall

They're coming down in showers,
The leaves all gold and red;
They're covering the little flowers,
And tucking them in bed.
They've spread a fairy carpet
All up and down the street;

And when we skip along to school,
They rustle 'neath our feet.
Fall Days
These are the leaves
Orange, red, and brown.
These are the leaves
That sweep along the ground.

These are the squirrels
Fat, furry, and gray.
These are the squirrels
That hide their nuts away.
This is t
he rain
Cold, wet, and loud.
This is the rain
Falling from the cloud.

These are the geese
Smooth and sleek, they fly.
These are the geese
Gliding through the sky.
This is the wind
Blowing wild and free.
This is the wind
Whistling through the tree.
I'd rather be a person
Than an animal in the fall.
It doesn't seem that
Animals have much fun at all.
Some work so hard to store up food,
While others hibernate,
Cold and snow and ice are things
They don't appreciate.
But I can run and play with friends
Through fall and winter, too.
I'd rather be a person having fun.
Wouldn't you?
