Biography Poem

 

The bio poem is a form poem useful for describing historical and literary characters or for students to describe themselves.  Have a go at several different types so the students can explore some.

                             

Line 1:  First name of the person

 

 

Line 2: Title

 

 

 

 

Line 3: Four words or phrases that describe that person

 

 

 

 

 

 

Line 4:  Lover of (three things or ideas)

 

 

 

 

Line 5:  Who believed in (2 ideas)

 

 

 

 

Line 6:  Who wanted

 

 

 

Line 7:  Who ...

 

 

 

Line 8:  Who gave us

 

 

 

 

Line 9:  Who said, “(quote) “ or might have said:

 

 

 

Line 10: Last name of person

 

 

 

 

This type of poem allows you to describe the hopes and fears of your subject along with typical report information.


The typical format is:


 Line 1: First Name
Line 2: Four descriptive traits
Line 3: Sibling of...
Line 4: Lover of
Line 5: Who fears...
Line 6: Who needs...
Line 7: Who gives...
Line 8: Who would like to see...
Line 9: Resident of...
Line 10: Last Name
