        Listen and Say Letters: Each of the letters of the alphabet is reinforced with an appropriate letter sentence. Click on the letter for

        Look, Cover, Write, Check- No audio   Created for and by the children at Ambleside Primary School. While aimed at primary school children you can generate a word list by spelling patterns, or by topics such as science or geography.

        Another interactive version of 'Look, cover, write and check' aimed at primary school children. The vocabulary selection is limited, but would be suitable for an Entry Level learner. Many vowel combination patterns.

        Read Sight Word Books!

        Read these simple books based on the Dolch Sight Words with pattern sentences. The reader can click words to hear how they are pronounced. They can also click pictures to get new animations and sounds. Highly interactive. There is soon to be ten books in this series. Need Flash.

        PBS Kids: These stories feature some of your favorite characters, like Caillou, Barney and Arthur.

        Tumblebooks: 

        TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books which teach young children the joys of reading in a format they'll love. You need to sign up for the year, $29.99.  I have nothing to do with this site. You may give it a try though for free. Download  books free.

        Robert Munsch Virtual Story Room - Some of Robert Munsch's books are available for listening to hear online!

        Kennedy Center's Storytime Online - listen to great children's stories on your computer. Requires RealPlayer

        Ryan in Trouble - read, listen, and watch as the adventures of Ryan the tiger unfold in this story written by a class of six year olds. Requires Flash.

        What Did Toby See? - read or listen to this e-book by cartoonist Ron Zalme all about a dog with a great imagination.

        Tiger Aki - animated stories and Flash games for younger kids

        Candlelight Stories - Lots of illustrated children's stories. Has options to hear stories read aloud.

        Wired for Books - Well done dramatic audio production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll free online.

        Anderson Fairy Tales- Read along as you hear the story of Princess Kayla told to you. Is she the Real Princess the Prince has been searching for so long? Only the Queen knows how to find out for sure! Features attractive graphics and animation.

        Grimm Fairy Tales - Read along as you listen to Rick Miller tell the tale of four animal friends in The Brementown Musicians. As you read, press the "Play" button on each page to activate the nice animations that accompany the story.

        First Grade Backpack- This site has audio books and several activities for readers and non readers.

        Alphabet Learning - This on-line game on the alphabet proposes series of letters presented to the child. Every list of letters includes 5 letters to be identified. Two levels are available with or without different writings.
